Add Cloud Identity Free to Google Workspace
Background
- As described in a previous post, I have signed upfor Google Workspace to create - GCP projects belonging to an "Organization".
- I have subsequently cancelled the Workspace trial and hence, am not able to add more than a total of 2 users
- I really do not need more Workspace licenses, but a Cloud Identity user is fine to work on GCP projects.
How
Following are the steps that I have followed
- Logged in to admin console and navigated to Billing --> Get more services
- Selected Cloud Identity Free
- Placed Order
- If you are paying for workspace licenses, review the settings and ensure that licenses are not assigned by default to newly created users.
- Able to create a new user
